What did this inspire?

Legend has it that a certain gentleman had a few pints too many at the local pub one night.  On his way home, he looked up at this tower and had the inspiration for something well known to all of us.  Can you figure out what it was?

Leaning Tower of Pisa?

Okay, I see I need a better hint here: you can eat it.

Well, I've been drinking since early this morning to help me with this quiz. It's starting to look like an ice cream cone, but I'll have a few more drinks to double check my research.

Wedding cake?

"Dingdingdingdingding!" And the winner is [drumroll inserted here] "The Chef's Wife." (Note: that sounds like the title to a catchy romance novel.)

Yes, the legend was a baker was heading home from the pub after a few pints, looked up and saw the tower of the building, and was inspired to create the tiered wedding cake for his daughter's upcoming marriage.

The building (and apparently, the first tiered wedding cake to make it into legends) was in London.

Cool! Can't believe I got that! :) And I think The Chef's Wife might be a pretty good read. I could write about all of my food peccadillos and how he loves me anyway. hahaha
