A few last details: New Albany

The Joseph Warren Lodge # 71 was organized in 1843 when New Albany was still in Pontotoc County.  This building was erected in 1903.

The following link is to a postcard (for the low, low price of $125) of the laying of the cornerstone of the lodge.  The date on the postcard indicates it would be this building.

The brickwork on this building is interesting, with an art deco look to it.

Unfortunately, though there are markers throughout the downtown area, they are all generic, and show no information about the building itself.  Was this a hotel?

It's time to bid goodbye to New Albany for now, and mosey on along the road to other places in Mississippi and beyond.
