The Hamilton Hardware building was erected in 1904, and underwent "major restoration" in 1939, expanding and creating a new facade. Recently the building was renovated in a development project that includes loft living spaces, and street level businesses.
That's quite a renovation, considering this 2007 photo.
I assume this would be the loft area:
Two highly appointed loft apartments - 1,000 and 1,200 square feet - will be on display during the open house. They feature such amenities as granite countertops, marble and tile baths, original brick walls and heart pine floors, floating glass-block interior walls, 10-foot ceilings and balconies.
I was actually intrigued by the variety of textures in the glass.
This section of the building is next to the storefront visible in the first photo. Again, looking at that photo pre-renovation, I cannot seem to visualize this as the same building, though the Union County Development Association, and the street address, says so. Maybe there is just something I missed somewhere along the route.
