I think it is a moss rose, but not sure. They open up in full sun, and close down late afternoon.
Huh? To the above comment. Just wanted to know what the yellow flowers are. My grandmother had those and I've always loved them.

It is moss rose(portulaca grandiflora). It loves the heat and is like a weed in that it comes up later in unexpected places - like kudzu!
